Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My advocate story is parent-driven. After I realized that they had amassed lots of debt through forgetfulness, not paying utilities, and not buying food at the store that was sustainable for their diet for a diabetic. That's when I stepped in, asked them permission to regroup and form a different financial goal, put together utilities, and collection letters, and locate policies, annuities, etc that would be needed later in life. Through this process, I knew that I didn't want anyone that I knew, loved ones, or friends with aging parent issues to feel they were alone, that they had someone in the same boat as them. To have a cup of coffee with, cry with, remember with, and guide them with resources they might not have known were available. My advocate story was born from love.
