Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I became a Patient Advocate after over 25 years of nursing and recognizing how flawed our medical healthcare system is. I saw and witnessed firsthand the lack of care, attention, and time was being given to patients over and over. As I assisted my father-in-law through his pancreatic cancer diagnosis from the beginning to end of life, to my family member struggling with medication-resistant depression to my own experience in the medical system after an accident nearly took my life, I realized something had to change. The need for advocacy is so great and I desire to provide an opportunity for everyone to have an advocate when they need it the most.
