Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
For the past five years, I've been advocating for my family, aging parents and many friends. I would like to share with you why I have focused my nursing career on Patient Advocacy.
You see, my sister Sharyl suddenly passed away from a misdiagnosis. She was only 50 at the time, and she was living in another state. When the correct medical issue was discovered, it was too late. She was gone within hours, we were devastated. I wish I could have been her personal patient advocate. She would still be here today enjoying her life and family.
This senseless error has spurred my passion to use my nursing expertise in becoming a patient advocate for others. My sister deserved an advocate like this, someone who would help her receive the correct diagnosis and life-saving treatment. It is from my sister's loss that my business, Truly Yours RN Patient Advocates, was birthed. I am relentless in seeking safe, informed and efficient care for my clients.
