How I Can Help
My advocacy is usually short and focuses on safety. If you have experienced harm and now must go back into the medical system and need support, I can support you but ideally I will help you build your local support system around you. They are probably there to help but need to know what to do to support you. We can figure that out together. Every case and every story is unique. Let's have a conversation to learn what your needs are.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
After the death of my young son from a preventable medical error, I used this experience to build a patient safety advocacy nonprofit organization in 1996 that started as a support group and now focuses on patient’s safety. I began to attend medical conferences in 1999 and learned about medical errors and patient safety. I am still involved in national programs and present my work at medical conferences. 25 years later we still look at patient experience as unique to everyone and a very personal journey.

I recognize that patient care is complicated and people do not learn to be patients. Learning from each other is one of the best ways to learn. I visit patients at the bedside and/or work closely with their family to help with hands on support and safety by listening to the patient and learning the individuals needs and expectations.

Often the whole family needs support and I can help with that too.

Pulse CPSEA offers discussion groups, speakers and assists the patient’s family in their journey to safe medical care and treatment. Using the knowledge and support from the experts in the field we are able to support people with tools to get the most out of their medical care and treatment. Learn more at www.icorina.com
