Rebeka Acosta

A+J Patient Advocacy provides free health navigation, advocacy, and education services to people with chronic illness.  

We are on a mission to prepare generations of patients and families to be informed health consumers. Promoting access to appropriate care for the most marginalized patients, increasing patient engagement, and providing knowledge of diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes will guide us in reducing health disparities.  

We believe that every person should receive appropriate and timely healthcare, regardless of geography, income, race, ethnicity, sex, gender, sexual orientation, ability, diagnosis, or complexity of condition.  

We know it is important for spouses, partners, parents, guardians, siblings, extended family members, and other supportive individuals to participate in our services alongside the patient.  

We will ensure our services remain accessible, equitable, and free for all patients and their families. Our work is only done when the patient thrives.

Rebeka Acosta is a Board Certified Patient Advocate and has 15 years experience in administrative healthcare. More importantly, she is a chronic illness patient and the parent of two teens living with lifelong illness. Rebeka's personal experience fuels her passion to support patients and their families every day. 

Rebeka is experienced working with multicultural families; families touched by adoption, foster care or kinship care; LGBTQ+ individuals and families; individuals and families marginalized in society due to social/cultural factors.

Rebeka is also experienced and well-connected in the following disease spaces:

-Congenital heart disease
-Congenital trachea/bronchomalacia and other airway diseases
-ADHD and other neurodevelopmental diagnoses
-Learning disabilities and developmental delays
-Autism
-Down syndrome
-Cerebral Palsy
